He received his Postgraduate Degree in Labor Law by Universidad Panamericana (UP).
Throughout his professional career, Luis Monsalvo has represented different corporations, offices, institutes, government and multilateral agencies on issues related to labor conflicts. He is acknowledged as an expert in high-risk litigation, possessing an extraordinary ability regarding strikes and economic labor conflicts.
He is an expert in managing labor restructuring and changes due to mergers, acquisitions and strategic planning. He has successfully led negotiations with all types of confederations, unions and organizations.
Monsalvo Valderrama has participated in countless conferences, degree courses and round table discussions throughout the country, in more than 20 Universities and in various Associations specializing in Labor Law.
He has successfully combined litigation with the academic field for more than 30 years; he is a professor of Labor Law and Procedural Labor Law at UNAM, and at the graduate courses in Labor Law and Business Law at UP, program founded in 1981 with his assistance. He also collaborates every year in specialization and updating courses taught by the Conciliation and Arbitration Boards, both at federal and state levels. He is a founding member of the Mexico City Board’s Specialization Institute.
Author of several studies on Labor Law, among them: “Emergency wages”, “Court Contest”, “Witness testimony”, published by the UNAM Law School Journal.
He has advised more than 400 Thesis for Bachelor and Doctorate degrees, at different Universities. He has been a member of juries for more than 600 Law Degrees.
