We hereby inform you about the recent addition of Mrs. Aída Ivonne Valles Chávez to this law firm as Partner and head of the mining area.

Mrs. Valles has a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (2002), with a master’s degree in Procurement and Administration of Justice (2005), in addition to several courses, diplomas and specializations in direct and indirect Amparo Proceedings, legal argumentation, Federal Proceedings in Administrative, Civil, Commercial, Labor and Criminal matters, as well as in environment, Human Right to a Healthy Environment, Human Rights, Agrarian Law and Indigenous Communities.

Throughout her professional career, she has held various positions within the Federal Judiciary and the Federal Judiciary Council, having also been Director of Mining in the Government of the State of Chihuahua. In the private sector, she has worked as head of legal and social responsibility areas, in the banking sector, as well as in several mining companies operating in our country. This has allowed her to acquire a deep knowledge and mastery of the processes and procedures inherent to various sectors of industry and government, highlighting among them, the mining industry, where, during the last years, she has internally advised companies in this sector regarding each of the areas of law that converge during the stages of prospecting, exploration, construction, operation and closure of mining projects and operations in this country, as well as in their relationship with the stake holders of this sector.

Our new partner has developed her professional career combining a solid academic background with active legal practice. She has served as a law professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua.
