We hereby inform you that on July 25, 2025, a decree was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) establishing measures to simplify and improve administrative procedures carried out at the National Institute of Migration (INM).
FIRST. Removal of requirements:
Notification of change of civil status, name, nationality, address, and place of work: The requirement to present the original and a copy of the Resident Card is no longer required.
Issuance of Immigration Documents:
- The requirement to present three passport-style photographs of the face, with forehead and ears uncovered, without earrings or glasses, has been removed.
- However, users must authorize the immigration authority at the office where the procedure is being processed to take digital photographs of them, with their ears and forehead uncovered, without earrings or glasses.
SECOND. The time limits for resolving the following procedures were reduced:
Notification of change of civil status, name, nationality, address, place of work: The maximum period will be 3 business days.
Issuance of Immigration Document: The maximum period will be 10 business days.
