Dear Clients and Friends,
As of July 17, 2025, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare issued a regulation in the Official Gazette of the Federation focused on ensuring the right to rest breaks during working hours for employees engaged in prolonged standing tasks.
This provision applies to the service, retail, industrial, and other work centers where employees stand for prolonged periods. The aim is to prevent musculoskeletal damage, fatigue, and circulatory problems.
Employers must evaluate and adjust their working conditions to incorporate active pauses, rest spaces or mechanisms, and task rotation between standing and sitting.
These measures are integral to preventing occupational risks, as mandated by the Federal Labor Law and Article 123 of the Constitution.
Appended to this bulletin is a diagram provided by the Ministry of Labor to help companies determine their specific situation. Additionally, it is crucial that the employer assesses the risk level for each employee working in prolonged standing positions, utilizing a scoring system set forth by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.
I am available to assist you in implementing this reform in your workplace, both from a legal and practical perspective
