Chihuahua, Chih., October 26, 2022.
Dear Clients and Friends,
Last October 19, the Labor and Social Welfare Commission of the Senate of the Republic unanimously approved the initiative with draft decree regarding “Reforming and adding articles 132 and 133 of the Federal Labor Law, regarding labor rights for senior citizens”, which has its origin in the law initiative issued by the Congress of the State of Baja California and which is motivated by the need that adults over 60 years old have to continue rendering their services, derived from their labor trajectory and/or precarious retirement system, which does not allow them to have access to a decent pension. Said initiative consists of the following:
Establish a minimum of 5% of positions occupied by adults over 60 years of age in employment sources with more than 20 workers.
This initiative was unanimously approved by the Labor and Social Welfare Commission and was referred to the corresponding Legislative Studies Commission.
In this law firm we remain at your service for any questions or comments related to this information, hoping that your company will find a successful decision making in its administration and compliance, so we recommend you to remain attentive to the new provisions to be issued to the particular subject.
